Blog love and noreply-commenters

First off, I want to thank a couple of fabulous fellow bloggers for giving me some great shoutouts this week.  Kate from Needle and Spatula gave me the Liebster award, and Kristen at K*D Quilts gave me the stylish blogger award.  Thank you ladies!  So nice of you to spread the blog love.  :)  Check out their blogs for lots of inspiration and creativity!

Second, I wanted to ask all you noreply-commenters out there how you'd like me to respond to your comments.  Are you a no-reply-commenter?  Have you checked your blogger contact information to see if you have a contact email account associated with your blog account?  Here's a great write-up on how to check!

On one of my posts last week, 4 out of 5 of the comments had no email address attached to them and I love to reply to comments, especially when you have questions.  Many of you have blogs, but have no way for readers to contact you except for commenting on one of your blog posts.  Would it be weird to post a reply on *your* blog in response to your comment on *my* blog?  Or would you prefer if I just commented on my post after your comments?  Would you check back on that post to reread the comments?  Let me know what you all think about this!

Perhaps you are worried about having your email address out in the open?  Just sign up for an email account to be specific for your blog and for commenting on other blogs.  That's what I did.  It's so easy to sign up for email accounts these days!

  1. Thanks for the shout out Shelley :)... and I definitely know what you mean about no-reply commenters. Maybe I should post something similar on my blog too... I really wish blogger were better about supporting comments like wordpress seems to be where people can anonymously leave their email (eg only visible to the blogger) and then you can reply to comments on the page but the person also gets emailed. At least I think that's how it works. I don't have energy to change blogging platforms but it sure seems like a better system for comments...
